Tax Advice Blog

I was almost unsure if I was writing the title to a blog post or a one-liner when I decided to title this one "the IRS is here to help"! It made me laugh a little when I read it back to myself, but after doing a brief search this morning I was pleased at some of the assistance that is being offered.

A small amount of time and a web search can reveal many opportunities to gain assistance and insight about the IRS and taxes, and I wanted to briefly introduce two options I found interesting:

The first is a tax calendar for small businesses and self-employed workers.  It has options below the calendar to customize what events display to make it more useful for your specific situation. This module can give you due dates for payroll tax deposits and other basic tax forms in a convenient calendar format:

The other option for assistance from the IRS is their YouTube channel.  There are a great deal of videos housed on their channel to assist with most questions and areas of concern. I like that they are broken down into categories, such as small business topics or tax.  This allows you to find what you need as well as browse general topics that may apply to you.

While it is nice to highlight the ways the IRS is attempting to offer assistance, it is also realistic to note that they will often feel like a road block to your plans rather than the helping hand that lifts you over the next obstacle.  Times like these are when it is best to have professionals on your side to handle the road blocks for you.  Contact us today and we will work through all the rough spots in the road with you, no matter how threatening they appear...

          Welcome to the blog!

Thanks for taking the time to visit.  We hope this blog becomes a venue for us to share tax planning and other useful information with our clients.

It is no secret that reading tax publications and correspondence can be time consuming and difficult, but we have professionals on staff who stay up at night in anxious anticipation of the next great release from the IRS.  We also have a great portfolio of investment beach property in the midwest if you would like to buy that as well!

For now, I would leave you with a simple definition you are likely already aware of:

com·par·a·tive ad·van·tage
"The ability of an individual or group to carry out a particular economic activity (such as making a specific product) more efficiently than another activity."

This is something that often gets overlooked in business, especially by owners and managers that find it hard to delegate their work to others.  Our firm has the advantage when considering tax planning and IRS communications, so let us take care of the hard work for you!  If you have questions or suggestions, please feel free to email me directly or leave a comment here on our blog.

Thanks for stopping by!
